Indian politician and writer

Thamizhachi Thangapandian, also known as Sumathy, is an Indian Tamil poet, lyricist, orator, politician and writer.[1] She was elected to the Lok Sabha, lower house of the Parliament of India, from Chennai South constituency in the Indian general election as a member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

She worked as a lecturer in English at Queen Mary's College, Chennai before entering politics.[2][3]
